Part 39: Who Will Inspire The Elders Today?

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Who allowed the church leaders to declare all sorts of doctrines that hold fast to only a glance at scripture? How did the church leadership structure become so disorganized? We are grateful to God for the head of the church our savior Christ Jesus and for the Holy Spirit that guides us to Godly sense.

Brethren where have all the inspired men gone? The Apostles have passed on. However the written word stands. Is there confusion in the church today because the leadership; structure does not look to the Bible?

Can we receive the free gift of salvation by doing as we please? Are there set in place rules for Christians? If the Bible is only consulted in a piece-meal fashion will this tamper with our journey to Peace and Paradise? Can man re-write the Bible and take out and add what he is most comfortable with? Has God told us in the Bible how to be blessed? Evidently some so-called believers read the Bible and some do not. Is the Bible just as important for the literate and the illiterate?

We will now conclude our discussion on e the qualifications of Elders as church leaders. However the previous questions and statements are made because most people do not look to the Bible for instructions.

Titus 1: 9: "Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that we may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."

This verse first gives an explanation of the phrase "apt to teach" noted in I Timothy 3: 2. In order to teach one also must hold fast to the faithful which is the truthful word.

If the Elders during the time the church was being established were not inspired? Who were inspired? The Apostles were inspired and they were to teach the Elders.

This logically raised the question. Who will teach the Elders today? Will they be inspired by the completed word of God (Old and New Testaments)? The Elders also must exercise and teach sound doctirne. They also most be on guard for those who threaten the spiritual health of the body. Therefore they must be able to convict and expose false teachers. Since we have so many false teachers where are the Elders?

II Thessalonians 2: 15: "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle."

Here Paul clearly reveals who is inspired and that this authority come by word of mouth, preaching or by his epistle.
