Christian Health Insurance

With the current economic situation and the continued rise in medical costs, it seems as though everyone is looking for a better option for affordable health insurance. One of these options is Christian Health Insurance. The idea for Christian Health Insurance is simple. Families and individuals in search of health coverage pool their money together to pay the medical bills for those in need.

While cutting out the big insurance companies sounds like a great idea, the end result is usually the opposite. Yes, many Christian Health Insurance Plans cost MORE than just buying normal medical insurance.

For example, I am a 32-year-old male and a company like Medi-Share wants $108 a month premium for a $3750 deductible plan! My current plan is $2500 deductible plan an only $89.00 a month.

My best advice is to check on the Christian Health Insurance Plans and then get a Health Insurance Quote through all the major carriers.

Christian Health Insurance companies are non-profit organizations that offer faith-based health coverage that is sometimes an affordable alternative to private health insurance. Health care costs are astronomical and many people in the United States cannot afford the high cost of medical care. Christian Health Insurance is a solution for Christians to this issue. Policies are affordable and easy for practicing Christians to obtain. Large numbers of Christians form a group that shares the expense of each other's medical costs, relieving the burden for one family or person. This reduces monthly premiums to about half the cost of traditional health insurance premiums. This type of health insurance is medical bill sharing amongst a group of Christians who share the medical costs of fellow Christians in need. Monthly premiums that are paid into the fund are used by the people who are receiving medical care with costs that they cannot pay on their own.

To qualify, the participant must be a Christian that lives by the principles of the Bible. This includes no use of tobacco or drugs. They must also follow the Bible teachings on alcohol uses. They must also attend church on a regular basis as long as their health permits. Worship attendance must be verified by a pastor, in most cases. Some Christian Health Insurance companies do not require a waiting periods or have certain alternatives to deductibles and how they are paid. There is usually no physical required, but may include medical underwriting. They can choose their own doctors and other health care clinicians. A pre-existing medical condition is not a basis for refusal of coverage but people can be declined coverage. Every group has their own specific rules but generally speaking, insurance claims are covered by donors and other people in the group who are paying monthly premiums.

One area of caution is that if any qualifications should change, a person could be dropped from the group. Also, certain issues are not covered such as abortion, drug abuse, STDs or the abuse of alcohol. The fellowship of Christians helping Christians through participation in the program and standing by to help others is a major benefit. Another major benefit is that there is a group of Christians who are praying for one another in the time of a health crisis. Practicing Christians who are serious in their faith and follow the Bible can benefit from the financial, medical and spiritual assistance offered by a faith-based Christian Health Insurance plan.

For those families that are simply looking for the lowest premium, then a true christian policy may not be the best option as a healthy family will be expected to help pay the costs associated with covering high risk, less fortunate individuals. A family health insurance quote may be the best christian health insurance alternative for those looking to get the most affordable coverage possible.
